IVF (In Vitro Fertilization)

IVF is an advanced fertility treatment where eggs are retrieved from the ovaries, fertilized with sperm in a lab, and then the resulting embryos are transferred into the uterus.

Steps of IVF:

  1. Ovarian Stimulation: Fertility medications stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs.
  2. Egg Retrieval: Eggs are collected from the ovaries using a minor surgical procedure.
  3. Fertilization: Sperm is combined with eggs in the lab to create embryos.
  4. Embryo Transfer: A selected embryo is placed into the uterus.
  5. Pregnancy Test: Done two weeks after the embryo transfer.
