IVF (In Vitro Fertilization)
IVF is an advanced fertility treatment where eggs are retrieved from the ovaries, fertilized with sperm in a lab, and then the resulting embryos are transferred into the uterus.
Steps of IVF:
- Ovarian Stimulation: Fertility medications stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs.
- Egg Retrieval: Eggs are collected from the ovaries using a minor surgical procedure.
- Fertilization: Sperm is combined with eggs in the lab to create embryos.
- Embryo Transfer: A selected embryo is placed into the uterus.
- Pregnancy Test: Done two weeks after the embryo transfer.
